Port Days 2025 took place in Kokkola on 18–19 September, celebrating the 200-year history of the Port of Kokkola. The event brought together port industry experts, partners, and decision-makers to discuss current trends in the sector and to shape a shared vision for the future of ports.
Over the two days, participants heard perspectives on topics such as the impact of economic and geopolitical developments on port operations, port electrification, digitalization, and biodiversity goals. Themed discussions delved into concrete issues, including the development of electric ships, technologies for port machinery, and digitalization in ports.
Expert presentations highlighted the opportunities of port automation in strengthening resilience and competitiveness, the role of artificial intelligence as a competitive advantage today, and the close collaboration between ports and industry.
Port Days also provided valuable networking opportunities, an exhibition, a dinner event, and a port tour, where participants could explore the operations of the Port of Kokkola firsthand.
A warm thank you to all participants, speakers, and partners – together we are building stronger and more sustainable ports!
